Jackson Electric do small residential repairs?
Yes. We do all types of electrical and heating/cooling repairs for
both residential and commercial customers. We service all brands of
equipment and feature Carrier. We can do anything from replace a light
switch in your home to wiring your office building.
3. How
can I save money and lower my energy cost?
One way to save money and energy is to keep your existing system operating
at peak efficiency through the Jackson Electric Service Contract plan.
Another way to save money and energy is to replace old inefficient
equipment with high efficient equipment that will also provide greater
comfort levels within the conditioned space.
4. How
do I know what size system to buy?
Square footage of the area to be conditioned is only one criteria
to be considered. Some of the other factors are shading, direction
the structure faces, insulation, and window area. Jackson Electric
can conduct a study and determine the exact size system required.
5. Are
all systems the same as long as they have the same heating/cooling
capacity?
No. Just like automobiles, there are many different selections within
each size and brand. These selections range from standard efficient
units to super high efficient units. Warranties range from one year
parts and labor up to ten years parts and labor. Units can heat with
gas, electric, heat pumps, or hot water.
6. Why
should I replace my system instead of repairing it?
Due to the recent improvements in equipment, older systems are more
costly to operate than the new high efficient systems. The refrigerant
used in older systems in now being phased out and will no longer be
available in the near future. Additionally, new systems can have a
parts and labor warranty that will eliminate repair costs for up to
ten years.

How much does a system cost?
Prices vary depending on the size of the system, the energy efficiency,
and the amount of duct work required to install the equipment.
8. The
refrigerant in my unit is being banned by the government. How will
that affect me?
The government has banned R-22 refrigerant because it damages the
Ozone Layer. This has caused the supply to drop and the price to rise
rapidly. You also have to have a Federal license to by this refrigerant.
Jackson Electric has a system that uses the new refrigerant that meets
all the government specification and will be available for many years.
9. What
is a Service Contract and why should I have one?
The Jackson Electric Service Contract is a maintenance agreement that
provides two services per year for your heating/cooling system. This
service is deeply discounted and allows you a 10% discount on all
other work, a free filter with each service, and Preferred Customer
status.

and repair my equipment even though you did not install it?
Yes, we can service and repair all brands and types of equipment.
11. What
do I do if I have a problem after normal office hours?
During normal office hours, you will always be greeted by a real live
person. But after hours you will get our wonderful machine. You can
leave a work order for the office or have a technician call you. We
can provide emergency service on electrical and heating/cooling problems
as well.
12. What
type of payment plan do you offer?
Several types of financing plans are available with approved credit.
We offer Carrier financing on repairs or replacement of Carrier equipment,
Alabama Power Company financing on heat pump systems, and Alabama
Gas Company on gas heating and/or electric cooling equipment. We also
accept cash, check, or credit cards.
